VELVA, N.D.– It’s been quite a while since the Aggies last played the game of football. The Aggies have been yearning to get back on the field to play the game that they love so much.

“It’s been nine and a half months since the last time we played football, so I mean we’re looking forward to Friday, but it’s been the last nine months where it’s been day by day all nine months or whatever putting in the work, so now it’s time for us boys to show what we got”, said Ben Schepp.

In preparation for Friday’s showdown, the Aggies got a chance to scrimmage against the defending AAA state champs in the Minot Magicians.

“You know we learned a lot of things from it we watched film on it, we’re going to study that and see what we can improve on and then just show up Friday and play”, said Reggie Bruner.

“It was good for us to see. Good things bad things, but overall best thing for a scrimmage is to go up against good teams to see where we’re at”, said Schepp.

Last year’s state semifinal lost may be gone, but it won’t be forgotten.

“It was a really hard lost it hit us really hard in our hearts and our soft spots, but we got to comeback this year. We’re hungry to get back coming off of that lost. We lost a couple of seniors but we’re ready, we want blood, and we want to win the game”, said Treyson Iglehart.

The Aggies believe that it’ll be the little things, that will propel their success early on.

“Day by day. We just got to go day by day. We can’t think too much we got to lock into the game plan and execute the game plan and just go day by day”, said Bruner.

We got to stay prepared. We got to lock in. We got to stay dialed in during practice and just work hard everyday to get better and just prepare for Friday”, said Iglehart.

With a lot of seniors on this team, the younger leaders want to send them out with another state title.

“That would mean everything. I know I won it my freshman year they won it their sophomore year, but it would be really nice to see another one. Big senior heavy class we got to send them out with another championship, said Luke Selzler.
