BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) —The North Dakota Department of Commerce has developed a program where organizations can submit solutions to workforce-related problems they come across. It is called the Regional Workforce Impact Program (RWIP), and is funded by the 68th North Dakota Legislative Assembly.

The RWIP encourages groups to submit solutions that boost economic stability, that are sustainable, and that positively impact diverse communities. When a group submits a solution, the RWIP will assess it, and then provide grants to the corresponding regional workforce entity so they can tackle the challenge at hand.

Applicants are required to show that they can match 25% of the cost of each project. Groups like economic development organizations, childcare centers, and tribal entities, among others, may apply.

The application portal opens Sept. 3, and applications are due Oct. 29. They will be reviewed from Oct. 30 through Nov. 15, and applicants will be notified of the decisions the following week.
