MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — New and returning students are walking the quads and hallways at Minot State University, but that’s not the only thing happening on campus.

The remodeling of the Severson Entrepreneurship Academy is just about complete. Leaders say the project was designed to create a dedicated space for the SVA.

“This gives our entrepreneurship students really kind of a focal point to build off,” said MSU’s Vice President for Advancement Rick Hedberg, “and for our director Mr. Conway to really bring students together to talk about entrepreneurship. building their portfolios. and supporting internships that go on with the Severson Entrepreneurship Academy.”

With the technology they have in this classroom, they will be able to invite business leaders from all over the world to communicate with the students. It will be set up as a showpiece smart classroom with monitors, as well as microphones in the ceiling where they can bring people in remotely. They are also installing carpeting with red and grey school colors.

“We will continue to grow our program opportunities to connect our students with the business community through internships and other off-campus learning opportunities,” explained MSU’s Director of Entrepreneurship Academy Randy Conway, “so that our students are more prepared when they graduate — but also, the community receives or benefits from high-quality students who can work and help them in their businesses.”

The total project cost around $400,000, and is supported by a gift through Clint Severson and Connie Ahart.
