BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — During the United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) 27th Annual Tribal Leaders Summit in September, Indigenized Energy will be hosting two events.

On September 4, Cody Two Bears, Dr. David Riley, and Kevin Wright will lead an afternoon panel discussion about the formation and future of the Northern Plains Tribal Energy Coalition.

They will also talk about the background of The Northern Plains Tribal Energy Coalition’s EPA award, strategic plans, and the implications of the effort for all tribes who are pursuing energy sovereignty.

During an interview, Cody Two Bears spoke about the work of Indigenized Energy and the Northern Plains Tribal Energy Coalition by saying, “We recognize that each Tribe has its own unique energy needs and implementation capacity. We help them plan and deliver projects, we help build skills and knowledge that will last, and we empower communities to create their own green economies and clean energy solutions.”

After the panel, Indigenized Energy will host a flag ceremony at 6 p.m. featuring 14 tribal nations.

The event will finish with a free performance by award-winning actor and stand-up comedian Tatanka Means from 7-8 p.m. in Hall A of the Bismarck Event Center.
