MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — After years of competing as a bodybuilder, she is following her dream.

Iron Culture was founded by professional IFBB bodybuilder Laura Connell, and it was a dream of hers to own a gym.

Her goal is to bring in the old school body building equipment from brands like Atlantis, Hammer Strength, and Rogue.

She says they have the only pendulum squat equipment in town.

Future goals of hers include having a second location and then working her way down south with the brand.

“I actually put a couple things together. Iron was of course because of the weights, and culture is because I want to create a culture where everyone feels welcome. And that positive environment and family feel,” said Connell.

The gym operates on a month-to-month membership, meaning there is no contract involved.

Gym members of Iron Culture in Minot can learn about nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Members will also have both personal training and group training available.

The gym’s office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. on Friday. All other times available are by appointment only.

The gym itself is open 24/7, but if you’d like a day pass to check the gym out, the cost is $10 .

A standard membership is $65 per month with a $25 sign-up fee, and there is a discount for military and first responders.
