MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — On Thursday afternoon, officers with the Minot Police Department were dispatched for a welfare check for a female, which led to an arrest.

When officers responded to the call, they were informed a 16-year-old female was driving a vehicle suspected to be stolen.

The female left the area, but officers were able to find her driving several blocks away.

When officers tried to stop her, she fled. Officers say they were able to find her again near Trinity Hospital, as she was driving recklessly, nearly hitting several cars in the parking lot. The female was eventually stopped near the entrance of the hospital and was taken into custody.

The female, originally from Williston, is allegedly facing juvenile referral charges for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and two counts of fleeing in a motor vehicle.
