BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — A man is now facing eight felony counts after police say he stole a car and several other goods before fighting with officers.

Police in Bismarck say that on the morning of Thursday, September 5, they were called out to Porter Avenue, where a man was sitting passed out in a parked car. Officers added that that man had just been involved in a hit-and-run crash, but when they ran the information on the car, they said it was stolen out of Minot.

The man in the car, Donnie Lee, refused to get out — and as BPD staff attempted to get him under control, Lee kicked one officer in the chest and bit him on the shoulder, before spitting on another’s face.

Lee was then arrested while police searched the car. Inside, they say they found tools, suitcases of women’s clothing, purses, and more than 3,000 quarters. The BPD also says they found a homemade lock-pick device on Lee’s person.

Lee was in court on Friday, where a judge set his bond at $10,000. He’s charged with assault on a peace officer, contact by bodily fluids, drug possession and theft of between $10,000 and $50,000.

Lee also faces a separate felony charge of domestic violence after police say he attacked a woman. His trial is scheduled for December 19th.
