WILLISTON, ND ( KXNET ) — A Williston woman is being charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after police allegedly found pills they believe to be fentanyl, along with six straws and many pieces of tinfoil believed to contain fentanyl residue, in her car.

According to an affidavit from the Williston Police Department, at around 8:39 p.m. on September 5, an officer on patrol saw a car fail to use its turn signal within 100 feet of turning onto 13th Avenue West, with an unreadable ‘curled’ license plate.

The officer stopped the driver, and observed that she was nervous and shaking. After seeing a piece of tin foil in the cupholder, the officer asked the driver if she had any illegal items in the car, to which she allegedly responded by turning her body away.

The suspect was then asked to exit the vehicle, where she then gave the officer consent to search her car. During this investigation, the officer found six straws and a piece of another one containing residue suspected to be from fentanyl, along with multiple pieces of tinfoil with burned residue. One or more pills suspected to be fentanyl were also uncovered.

The driver was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a charge she was previously convicted of in January of this year. This is a Class C felony for a repeated offense.
