MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — One popular part of the Magic City is getting some major love.

Visit Minot unveiled Citizens Alley in a ceremony on Wednesday in Downtown Minot.

The space, which is meant to be a fun recreation area, will have courts for things like pickleball and basketball, as well as an ice skating rink in the winter.

Visit Minot’s Executive Directors says Citizens Alley is a project that will make a big impact in downtown Minot because of the funding they received.

North Dakota experiences the most delays with packages

“We received a total of $1 million but there’s over $5 million in development that’s happening in downtown Minot,” said Stephanie Schoenrock, the executive director of Visit Minot.

Of the $5 million for the project, $1 million came from the Destination Development Grant with the rest coming from private partnerships.

Schroenrock says the goal of this project is to make Minot a destination for all North Dakota visitors, which is why you might be seeing a whole new look to downtown, sooner than you think.

“We got a Number 18 that’s gonna have a restaurant with entertainment packed into there as well and then we got Aura Nights which is a part of Prairie Sky Breads,” said Schoenrock.

Citizens Alley is set to be complete by the spring of 2025.
