NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — As people transition into older adulthood, live longer, and look for ways to maintain their wellness and independence, a survey finds that they are unsatisfied with their healthcare, the system, and services.

This survey finds that older adults — especially Baby Boomers — who live in rural communities, and/or are women, people of color, are economically disadvantaged, or have limited functional health are even more dissatisfied.

82% of adults have said that the U.S. healthcare system is not ready for the growth and change in the needs of the aging population.

Adding long-term care to what’s covered by Medicare is supported by everyone. So is improving the quality of nursing homes.

Despite ideologies and political parties, everyone wants the same thing: access to quality healthcare.
