MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — Souris Valley Animal Shelter will host its second annual ‘Day Out’ event this weekend.

It starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday and ends at 3 p.m.

Day Out is both an open house and fundraiser for the shelter with lots of activities for the whole family. There will be face painting, a bouncy house, and a place for people to do ‘paw art’ with their pets.

The shelter will also be holding a silent auction with gift baskets from businesses around the community. Leaders say the event will help keep the shelter running.

“The SVAS Day Out event will help us keep going towards the $250,000 need that we are striving for to keep the shelter opening and functioning for the rest of the year,” said Haley Burchett, the communication specialist at Souris Valley Animal Shelter.

Admission for the Day Out event is $10 per adult and $5 per kid. Donations of cat litter, wet food, and laundry detergent are also accepted for free admission

And just a reminder, pets are allowed at the event but will not be allowed inside the shelter.
