MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — If you’re looking for a fun event to take the family to on Saturday, the annual Festival on Main is set to take over the streets of downtown Minot.

Hosted by the Minot Downtown Business and Professional Association, Festival on Main will run all along Main Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Well, this is like the sidewalk sale of the whole entire year. This is when they can get the best deals of the whole entire year and I do believe people come from Montana for this and they come from Bismarck, they come from all over North Dakota for this and I think them coming in and just seeing all the things we have for the kids the great food the great spirit just brings the whole community together,” said Debbie Harris, the owner of Fiancée.

The festival will have everything from music to sidewalk sales and will have close to 25 vendors ranging from food and ice cream to clothing. There will also be more chances for the kids to have fun.

“We have a huge kid zone this year. The Minot Lions Club has made a donation to us and we’re doing everything from bouncy houses to a whole ton of new games. We have a lot, we have a lot of things going on in the kids zone, lots of food trucks, lots of vendors, and the other big thing is the Dakota Cruisers is gonna have about a 100 classic cars here,” said Margie Bolton.

For downtown business owners, the Festival on Main is a great way to be seen by folks not from the Minot area. And it’s also a chance to connect.

“I will spend the entire day outside visiting with people and getting to see people in the community that have got their things from me in the past, who have become friends of ours and it’s just a nice time to get out and see all those people wandering around and to get out and see old friends and new friends,” said Harris.

Seeing friends, buying local, and having fun is what a community festival is all about.

The Festival on Main is a free event, but tickets need to be purchased for activities like the bounce house.
