DICKINSON, ND ( KXNET ) — On September 5 in Dickinson, a four-hour standoff took place with police when a man stole a gun, broke into someone’s home, and barricaded himself inside, firing the gun in multiple directions.

The man whose house was broken into, Chris Fox, has started a GoFundMe to raise money to repair his house. He is a retired Pastor and Forest Service Employee.

The GoFundMe page reads, “The Stark County Sheriff and Dickinson Police department worked to de-escalate this violent situation, and after a four-hour stand-off, tear gas was deployed through four windows in Chris’ home shattering those windows, storm windows and an antique family heirloom hutch. The tactical unit from the Dickinson Police Department also had to break through a fence in Chris’ yard to get to the gunman.”

Fox is trying to raise $5,000, which his page says is just enough money to cover his insurance deductible and non-covered expenses.

So far, he has raised $1,255. To donate to Fox, visit his GoFundMe page here .
