NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — The North Dakota Department of Transportation has important updates on construction projects throughout the state, and crews are working towards finishing the work before construction season officially comes to an end.

Construction along Highway 52 is in its final stages in the area of Balfour and Fessenden. Officials say turning and passing lane construction continues at various locations, but construction teams are currently there to guide traffic.

In the Bismarck-Mandan area, the final improvements to the Grant Marsh Bridge along I-94 are reaching completion, and westbound structures are set to reopen next week. West- and eastbound lanes will be reduced to one, and traffic will be directed to use outside lanes.

Further west along I-94, improvements to the Eagle Nest Bridge near mile marker 102 continues, but eastbound traffic is currently reduced to one lane. County Road 139 is now open, though, to one-lane traffic, being controlled by a temporary stop light.

Near Lake Tschida, widening work along Highway 49 from Glen Ullin to Heart Butte Dam is progressing, and hauling and pipework operations are dotted throughout the area.

In Fort Yates, a roundabout pattern has been put in place at the intersection of Highway 24 and 31. While new pavement markings, signs, and signals are in place to guide traffic, the roadways are still narrow, and there is no truck apron in place.
