    Applications reopen for spot on Board of Public School Education

    BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler has announced that applications have been reopened to fill a vacancy on the state Board of Public School Education.

    The board is responsible for overseeing K-12 and career and technical education in the state.

    The application period was first opened in August, but it failed to attract eligible candidates.

    To be eligible, you must be a North Dakota voter, a member of a North Dakota school board, and a resident of one of eight counties: Burleigh, Stutsman, Eddy, Foster, Kidder, McLean, Sheridan, and Wells.

    The applicant selected will succeed former board member Burdell Johnson, who resigned in August. His successor will serve the remainder of his term, which ends June 30, 2026.
