BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — Workers in Bismarck hopped in the cab on Thursday to get some dirt work done at a historic site.

Workers spent the day at Buckstop Junction, as they brought along a few skid steers for projects like regrading a washed-out road, grading a field for a baseball diamond, and doing site work for what will soon be a new concert stage.

Volunteers also helped out with some landscaping and scraping paint on some of the buildings that will soon be repainted.

The work was part of Doosan Bobcat Community Days, which is an effort company workers join in twice a year.

“The majority of our board is in their 70’s, so there’s a handful of us that are younger, not much younger, but younger, and we try to get everything done that we can, so when we’ve got an organization like Bobcat that comes in and offers to help, it’s a godsend,” Buckstop Junction treasurer Missy Hilsendeger said.

“It can be a little unorganized right away, but for Buckstop Junction, this is great because this would have cost them who knows how much to get a machine out here and a crew to fix these roads, and we come out here and do it for free for them,” Bobcat Attachments Design Engineer Kaden Leier said.

Bobcat workers also spent time volunteering in Mandan and helping out at the Great Plains Food Bank.
