BISMARCK, N.D. ( KXNET ) — DNA tests confirm the remains found on the Missouri River this summer are that of Chase Hurdle.

Chase was an 18-year-old who went missing in November 2021. In June 2024, remains were found on the Missouri River after a family stumbled upon bones while they were out boating.

Initially, the remains were identified to be Chase by the glasses, pants, and shirt that were found on the body at the time, as well as dental records.

Chase’s parents requested DNA confirmation to see if the bones found were, indeed, his.
KX News obtained documents from the state forensics lab that confirm the DNA found in the bones are a match to Chase Hurdle.

However, the manner of death is considered to be undetermined, and Bismarck Police are currently working on closing the case.
