Mandan, ND ( KXNET ) — Eighth Ave NW in Mandan will be closed for two days this week for road repairs from 24th Street NW to 27th Street NW. The closure will start Thursday, Oct. 3 and go until Friday, Oct. 4.

Contractors will be pulverizing the asphalt pavement and base, and treating it with a stabilization solution. There will also be a gradual transition from the new full-width section to the existing half-width section.

The repairs are meant to stabilize the road for the time being as the city of Mandan prepares for a bigger roadway project that will include similar improvements. The city secured $4 million for the project, which will take place between Old Red Trail and 24th Street.

Drivers should look for alternate routes during the Eighth Ave closure. Side-street parking will still be available on 24th and 27th Street.
