NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — In order to strengthen rural infrastructure, the Biden-Harris Administration is investing around $10 million in projects all across the country including North Dakota.

The administration is expanding access to a clean and reliable electric grid and safe drinking water while also providing good-paying jobs for people in rural communities.

The USDA is investing in projects to make this happen.

In Buffalo, New Salem, and Mayville different kinds of pipes such as sanitary sewer pipes will be replaced providing safe water for these towns.

“Federal investments in North Dakota infrastructure projects relieve some of the financial burdens on local property taxes while also building strong more resilient communities supporting successful small businesses and improving the quality of life for our rural friends and families,” said Erin Oban, the state director for USDA Rural Development.

USDA leaders say that the funding that was announced on Wednesday will make water infrastructure in rural areas more resilient to the impacts of climate change and severe weather.
