MANDAN, ND ( KXNET ) — The northbound lane of Collins Avenue will close at its intersection with Division Street NE for about four days starting Thursday, Oct. 10.

The lane will be closed so Montana-Dakota Utilities can replace older gas transmission lines in the area. Concrete will have to be removed at the intersection so the lines can be replaced, which is what will cause the majority of the closure.

There will be a detour in place for Northbound traffic, which will guide people down Division Street, then Third Ave NE, then 14th Street NE, to get back to Collins Ave.

Contractors anticipate that they will reopen the lane of Collins Avenue on Monday, Oct. 14.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down as they approach the area, and to give themselves extra time to get to their destination as they adjust for the detour.
