MINOT, N.D.– The Minot Magicians soccer team are state bound, after finishing the year off with a 12-4-2 record. Now, even with that beautiful record, the Magicians believe that they still haven’t played their best soccer yet.

The Minot Magicians started of the season strong, winning their first five games of the season. At home the Magicians own a 7-2-2 record, and on the road the Magicians are 5-2. That’s pretty impressive for a team who are just now finding themselves, and who are still looking to play their best soccer yet.

“I think we started off really strong. I think we won the first four games straight. Then we got into better competition. We had to find out what kind of team we had. We had the high’s and lows towards the middle of the season. I feel like we got to the final third and we just started to put things together. I don’t think we played our best match yet, so I’m really excited to come into the state tournament and hopefully we get our best performance so far”, said Head Coach Jordan Foley.

“We’ve had a good season all around. Defiantly some ups and downs. More ups than downs with this great team. There’s a lot of seniors and we’ve just been going through it man”, said Vinny Palaia.

The Magicians leading point scorers are looking to come into day one of the state tournament playing with their hair on fire, as they are looking to log out of their senior year as state champions.

“Before this year I knew I’d put that effort in and score some goals. I think I’m at 16 or 17, but it’s not about the numbers. We’re just here to win and I’m here to help my team out. That’s my job and that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to work my hardest”, said Dylan Jackson.

“Trying to have the confidence fore sure. It all comes to you as far as points. You just have to take those opportunities”, said Cale Workman.
