NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — Many volunteers took time out of their day to help prepare for a special ceremony.

Every year, wreath-laying ceremonies happen in December at thousands of locations in all 50 states and beyond, including North Dakota — but first, some prep work needs to be done.

Local volunteers from the Civil Air Patrol, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and others were out Saturday, putting up wreath-hanging crosses before the first big deep frost of the year.

Wreaths are scheduled to be placed on those crosses, following a remembrance ceremony on December 14 at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot.

I would like to say "Thank You" to all who placed the crosses and soon the wreaths on our gone but not forgotten military people who graciously served this country. My Dad is buried in Georgia. He served in the Army for 21 years and 9 months. I miss him everyday. Again " Thank you".
