Woofstock taking over Buckstop Junction this weekend

BISMARCK, N.D. ( KXNET ) — It’s about to be a barking good time this weekend at Buckstop Junction in Bismarck.

Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue volunteers are preparing things out at the historical site in Bismarck for Woofstock this weekend. Saturday, August 10th, the old town will be filled with adoptable furry friends, live entertainment, and silent auction bidders.

Events begin at 2 P.M with kid’s bikes given away throughout the day. There will also be a cash grab machine, face painting, and kid’s games. All of the proceeds of this event will go to the Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue animal shelter.

“On any given day, we still have hundreds of animals in our care,” said Katie Veidel, a volunteer with Furry Friends. “We still have to turn animals away every single day. We’re just low on capacity and every dollar and amount of time that volunteers donate to us goes to saving the lives of animals in our community. I think many people may be surprised to learn that it’s a much larger need than many people realize,” said Veidel.
