NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — Grilling goods for Labor Day have gone down in price since last year.

According to new data from Pattern , an e-commerce accelerator, prices decrease by 2% in the last year.

Many people are preparing for parties to celebrate the holiday and this decrease makes the final hurrah even better.

The most popular items people purchase for the holiday are:

    • Salsa — price decrease of 11%
    • Ranch — price decrease of 8%
    • Beer — price decrease of 7%
    • Cheese slices — price decrease of 6%
    • Lettuce — price decrease of 6%

However, there are some items you should try to avoid if possible because those prices increase, they are:

    • Mustard — price increase of 10%
    • Hot sauce — price increase of 9%
    • Lemonade — price increase of 4%
    • Ketchup — price increase of 3%
    • Pickles — price increase of 3%

Thankfully, some picnic/party essentials have also decreased in price, those items are:

    • Meat thermometers — price decrease of 11%
    • Paper plates — price decrease of 7%
    • Cups — price decrease of 7%
    • Plastic utensils — price decrease of 6%
    • Lighters — price decrease of 4%

There are two items that increased though: coolers (an increase of 7%) and grill brushes (an increase of 5%).

With concerns about inflation lowering, North Dakotans who are looking forward to celebrating the holiday can also look forward to fair pricing on the essentials.

Even though there are some items to look out for, you can still keep your total down with some careful planning.
