Man gets 40 years related to 2021 death of Fayette County woman

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A man was sentenced to serve 40 years in state prison in connection with the 2021 death of a woman in Fayette County.

According to the Fayette County District Clerk’s Office, Denzale Myles pleaded guilty May 8, ahead of his sentencing, and received a jail credit of 978 days toward his prison time.

His sentence was related to the death of 20-year-old Ezrianna Poncik, which occurred Sept. 4, 2021, at the Green Acres Apartments. Myles was 28 at the time of the incident and charged with her murder, according to past coverage.

County officials said his sentence would also run concurrently with a prior sentence of two years.

I remember meet ez when she was 16 in 2017 around that time. she was a bright girl but she was around family and people that was around meth and drugs. the men she was with would get into physical fights and I witnessed alot of it. after her sister stole money from me, I stopped talking to them but heard from a source how cops were being called out to green acres apartments on her and her boyfriend about the fights and broken windows. I warned her in a comment on Facebook saying she can leave and walk away but she mistook my comment and assumed I was talking about her family and she replied very petty and mean back to me. I cared and helped ez, her sister, her mom michelle and her aunt Candace for years even though they all backatabbed me in the end by lies and stealing money off of me. then around the fair time we got a call from her sisters friend that told us they found her body and I was completely heart broken by it because she didn't listen to no one who told her to leave him.
