Temporary flight restriction in effect near Zilker Park during ACL

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Federal Aviation Association issued a temporary flight restriction starting Friday through Monday, Oct. 14, according to a post on X from Austin-Travis County EMS .

The post said all unmanned aircraft system (UAS) drone flights were prohibited within a 1 nautical mile radius of Zilker Park between 9 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. A view of the mapped area can be seen here .

ACL festival-goers must leave their drones at home. However, the post said drone teams with ATCEMS, the Austin Fire Department and the Austin Police Department would be operating in the area.

ATCEMS said the specialized drone teams are expected to be set up during weekend two of the Austin City Limits Music Festival to increase safety throughout the festival grounds and the surrounding areas.
