    Race for Austin mayor: How to watch Thursday’s debate

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — KXAN will host Austin’s mayoral candidates Thursday for an hour-long debate ahead of the November election.

    The “Race for Austin Mayor” debate will air live on KXAN News at 4 p.m. and will be live-streamed on KXAN.com. KXAN anchors Tom Miller and Jennifer Sanders will moderate the debate.

    KXAN reporter Grace Reader and KXAN Live Anchor Esme Zamora will host an additional live stream on KXAN Live with in-depth context and analysis of the debate in real-time.

    The five mayoral candidates, listed alphabetically, expected to participate in the debate are Jeffery Bowen, Doug Greco, Carmen Llanes Pulido, Kathie Tovo and Kirk Watson.

    All five candidates have met Nexstar’s eligibility criteria.

    Candidates will be asked questions on a variety of topics important to Austin voters. KXAN previously requested questions from Austin citizens and will use those submissions during the hour-long debate.
