WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Williamson County voters will get “I Voted” stickers this November that no one else in the country will have.

Though she won’t be able to cast a ballot in this year’s election, Round Rock Christian Academy sixth grader Andi Abbott will have an impact at the polls.

Abbott won first place in the Williamson County Elections Department’s first-ever “I Voted” Sticker Contest. The Commissioners Court announced Abbott as the winner Tuesday morning and recognized her in court.

“Voting is our constitutional right as Americans and a privilege that should not be taken for granted. This contest was a great way to make our next generation of voters feel included in this important process,” Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell said.

The contest was open to all middle school students in the county, and the winning design will be used as the official “I Voted” sticker for this year’s election. A panel of four judges selected the winning design.

Each Williamson County voter will receive a sticker with Abbott’s design after casting their ballots this year.

“I love doing art. I have been doing art for as long as I can remember. When I first heard about this competition, I was a little scared. I was competing against seventh and eighth graders, kids a lot older than me,” Abbott said. “I want to thank Ms. Redding, my art teacher who taught me so much about art.” She added, “In conclusion, y’all go vote!”

“I Voted” sticker design contests have been growing in popularity in recent years. Michigan’s statewide sticker design contest went viral on social media this year when the winning design depicting a werewolf in front of an American flag was announced as the winner.
