    APD releases surveillance video in search for homicide suspect

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Wednesday, the Austin Police Department released surveillance video related to an Oct. 1 homicide investigation.

    According to APD, the video is believed to be of the suspect involved in the investigation.

    PAST COVERAGE | One dead, two hurt in northwest Austin homicide

    According to police, on Oct. 1 in the 12000 block of Research Boulevard in northwest Austin, one person died and two others were injured in a shooting.

    APD said the person who died was later identified as 17-year-old Nathan Ockleberry.

    At the scene, police said two victims were found in a parking lot with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. A third person was also hurt but took themselves to the hospital.

    APD said the incident was being investigated as Austin’s 49th homicide of the year.

    Anyone with information was asked to contact APD at 512-974-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
