AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning that left a motorcyclist injured.

The crash happened near the intersection of Springdale Road and the U.S. Highway 290 eastbound service road shortly after 5:30 a.m. Monday, according to the Austin Police Department.

APD said a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on the U.S. 290 service road and it collided with a motorcycle. The suspect vehicle did not stop to render aid or call 911 and left the scene immediately after the crash, according to police.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said the victim is currently in stable condition and was released from the hospital.

APD described the suspect vehicle as a pickup truck that likely has damage near the left rear side/truck bed area, and the damage may have red or maroon paint transfer from the motorcycle.
