    APD looking for driver in hit-and-run that left bicyclist injured at N. Lamar, W. Anderson intersection

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver they said was responsible for injuring a bicyclist in a hit-and-run crash in north Austin Monday night.

    The crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. when a pickup truck collided with a bicyclist near the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and West Anderson Lane, according to the Austin Police Department.

    APD said the driver of the truck did not stop to render aid or call 911 and left the scene immediately.

    The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. APD they are now in stable condition.

    Police described the suspect vehicle as a black Dodge pickup truck that has been lifted or is taller than stock height.

    Anyone with any information may submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
