    Man dies two days after US 290, East Parmer Lane crash

    AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Thursday, the Austin Police Department identified a man who died two days after a single-vehicle crash in northeast Austin.

    APD said officers responded to a single-vehicle crash Oct. 4 near the intersection of East US 290 service road heading west and East Parmer Lane.

    Police said the driver, who was identified as 71-year-old Guillermo Lagunas-Hernandez, was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries on Oct. 6.

    According to APD, this incident was being investigated as Austin’s 70th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 75 fatalities.
