AUSTIN (KXAN) — This Saturday, Dairy Queen restaurants across Texas are supporting children’s hospitals in the state in an initiative called “Spoons for Smiles.”

Dairy Queen, in partnership with the Children’s Miracle Network, is donating $1 for every Blizzard sold in the Central Texas area toward Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Dell Children’s is part of the Children’s Miracle Network, which includes 16 hospitals across Texas that help families afford vital care for their children.

With a mission to change children’s health and their future, Children’s Miracle Network has raised $8.4 billion in the past 40 years for local hospitals.

Roughly 70% of the network’s patients are uninsured or underinsured, but every child receives care regardless of their ability to pay.

Visit participating Dairy Queen locations in Central Texas for a sweet treat and a good cause.
