    Tourism in Spokane County brought in $1.48 billion in 2023

    SPOKANE, Wash. -- People coming to visit the Inland Northwest increased last year bringing in $1.48 billion to the local economy.

    According to Visit Spokane, visitor spending was up 3.9% in 2023 compared to 2022 marking year over increases since the pandemic. The number of people also increased with 9.8 million people visiting Spokane County which is higher than 2019.

    $227 million was generated in state and local taxes.

    By Sector:

    Food and Beverage: $414 million

    Lodging: $368 million

    Retail: $316 million

    Transport: $250 million

    Recreation/Entertainment: $127 million
