13-year-old arrested for arson on Spokane's South Hill

SPOKANE, Wash. - A 13-year-old has been arrested for one of the fires on Spokane's South Hill last week.

According to Spokane Police, the teen was arrested for a fire at a car wash on South Regal Street Friday, July 19.

Early Friday morning, police said they saw the teen hanging around another business in the area before going to a nearby home.

Detectives spoke with the teen's father before arresting the 13-year-old for arson and malicious mischief. The teen was booked into Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center.

SPD said it has also identified an 11-year-old who may be connected to some other fires in the area. Police are working with juvenile prosecutors to handle the cases.
