Spokane Valley man dies in Saturday morning crash

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A Spokane Valley man died in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 27 Saturday morning.

According to Washington State Patrol, Daniel W. Fitzwater, 56 of Spokane Valley, was driving northbound on the highway near 46th Avenue around 7 a.m. Saturday.

Fitzwater's vehicle drove on the east shoulder of the roadway and overcorrected. His car crossed both lanes of traffic and the center turn lane before crashing on the west side of the road.

Fitzwater was declared dead at the scene.

WSP said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
