Man and dog die after being struck by pickup on North Division Street Friday night

SPOKANE, Wash. - A man and his dog were killed in a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on North Division Street Friday night.

According to Spokane Police, the man and his dog were walking in the area of Division and Lincoln Road around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

The driver of a pickup traveling southbound said they saw a vehicle swerve into their lane of traffic. The driver said they were not able to avoid hitting the victim and his dog.

First responders tried to save the victim's life, but he died at the scene.

SPD said the pickup driver did not seem impaired when the accident happened.
