Person killed in three-vehicle crash near the Gorge

GEORGE, Wash. -- Washington State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Grant County Monday afternoon.

According to WSP, two vehicles were heading north on Highway 281 near Road 5 NW just before 3:30 p.m.

Troopers say the driver of a Jeep rear-ended the other vehicle in the lane. This caused the Jeep to head into opposing lanes where it hit a step van heading south.

The passenger of the Jeep died at the scene and the driver was taken to an area hospital. None of the other people in the other vehicles were hurt.

WSP says potential charges are pending against the driver of the Jeep.

far too many accidents because police aren't patrolling anymore! Grape Drive to Broadway in Moses Lake is 50mph and people consistently drive 65mph. That behavior is contributing to these fatalities.
