SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- A woman was arrested for hitting a bicyclist with her truck on Thursday, according to Spokane Valley Police Department.

Around 4:50 p.m. on October 3, Spokane Valley deputies responded to a reported hit-and-run near Broadway Avenue and Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley.

When they arrived, deputies found a bicyclist lying in the roadway, bleeding from his head.

The cyclist was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

SVPD said the cyclist was hit by a white Ford F150 truck while crossing the road and that the truck did not stop after the crash.

Deputies began a search for the truck and its driver.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, deputies found and arrested 44-year-old Lisa M. Winnop during a traffic stop.

SVPD said Winnop's truck matched the description of the one caught on video hitting the cyclist and had damage consistent with the crash.

She also appeared to be intoxicated and declined to take a sobriety test during the traffic stop.

Winnop was booked into Spokane County Jail for felony hit-and-run and DUI.

The bikers were obviously not paying attention either. People always assume that just because they're in the crosswalk, cars/trucks will stop. Everyone needs to be diligent when it comes to safety.
