Washington ranked as one of the easiest states to vote

Washington is one of the easiest states in which to vote, according to data from the Cost of Voting Index.

The index ranks states by accessibility to voting. It factors in things like registration deadlines and laws, poll hours, early voting and absentee voting.

It also includes convenience, measuring factors like whether or not people can get paid if they leave work to vote and how long the lines are on Election Day.

The latest index ranks Oregon as the most accessible state for voting, closely followed by Washington.

Both states are vote by mail for every election.

Idaho falls in the middle of the pack. Idaho allows absentee voting, but the majority of voters still go to the polls on Election Day.

Mississippi ranks last on the index, which deems it the most restrictive state for voting.

You can see the index and take a deeper look at the data behind it at this website.
