(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The City of Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department has issued a temporary closure of a section of the Arkansas River Trail due to increased water flow and high waters.

According to the City, the Arkansas River Trail trailhead at City Park up to the new pedestrian bridge will be closed until further notice. The closure impact is about 500 feet in length.

“We want to inform the public of the closure,” said Director of Pueblo Parks and Recreation Steven Meier, “as well as remind everyone that this is the time of year that the river is flowing high and to always be cautious.”

The City said it will update the public with more information about this closure as it becomes available.
