    Colorado State Fair returns this week: What you need to know

    (PUEBLO, Colo.) — The 152nd Colorado State Fair returns to Pueblo on Friday, Aug. 23, with more than half a million fairgoers expected to attend over 11 days.

    This year’s theme is, ‘Colorful Colorado’ and new for 2024, the fair will present nightly drone shows at 9:15 p.m. at the Big R Arena. Also new this year; is a permanent family comfort station for nursing mothers and a sensory-free period on Monday, Aug. 26, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the family carnival area.

    “For the first time, families with children who are sensitive to lights, noise, and crowds can enjoy a quieter, calmer version of the Fair,” according to a press release.

    Events returning for 2024 include; the Governor’s Plate competition, the World Slopper Eating Championship, the Toughest Monster Truck Tour, and the Demolition Derby, just to name a few.

      • Monday – Thursday: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
      • Friday – Sunday: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
      • Labor Day: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
      • Last ticket sold at 10 p.m.
    • Ticket Prices: Varying prices noted below
      • Adult Gate Admission: (ages 13 & older) – $15
      • Kids (ages 5-12) – $7
      • Children 4 & under are FREE (when accompanied by an adult)
    • Carnival Hours: Varying times noted below
      • Monday – Thursday: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. or later
      • Friday – Sunday: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. or later
      • Labor Day: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. or later

      • Unlimited Ride Band* – $40
      • Mega Pass* – $200
      • Individual Credit – $1
      • *Some specialty rides not included
      • To purchase a carnival wristband or card with digital credits, visit a Magic Money kiosk in the carnival area.
    • Transportation : Pueblo Transit courtesy shuttle
      • The shuttle will run from the City’s Main Street Parking Garage (110 South Main in downtown Pueblo) to the State Fair Gate 5 on Prairie Avenue
      • Shuttles will run every 15 to 30 minutes
      • The shuttle and parking in the garage are FREE

    Pueblo police prepping for Colorado State Fair
