(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A heartwarming story brings together the joys of wildlife with a senior living community.

The community of StoneCreek of Flying Horse was treated to a pop-up Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (CMZoo) event on Thursday, Aug. 22. People ranging in age from their 70s to 103 years old were invited to hold or look at several reptiles.

After CMZoo’s visit, the community was treated to some live music and dancing with a concert from the Kevin Austin Band.

“It’s wonderful, and you see all the smiles—everybody loves the animals. We’ve lived here long enough that you didn’t need to have a reservation to go to the zoo, you could just go on the spur of the moment. But, it’s wonderful that you have this gift for the older people,” said Marilyn Gosch, who lives at StoneCreek of Flying Horse.

CMZoo offers several public and private events such as camps, classes, field trips, and scheduled animal experiences. More information about these events can be found on CMZoo’s website.
