(PETERSON & SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo.) — Peterson and Schriever Space Force Base (SFB) provided a heads-up to those who might be traveling through the gates on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 29-30, that protests are expected.

According to Peterson and Schriever , protests are expected to occur outside of both Peterson and Schriever SFB on Aug. 29-30 between the hours of 5:45 a.m.-9:00 a.m. and potentially 3:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Peterson and Schriever SFB said demonstrations are scheduled to be held near the Peterson SFB East Gate and Schriever SFB Enoch Gate, at the intersection of Highway 94 & Enoch Road. Demonstrations are expected to be peaceful. These protests have the likelihood to impact traffic congestion at key times during the duty day, the SFB said.

Peterson and Schriever SFB cautioned those traveling in the areas on the specified dates to anticipate traffic disruptions and longer commute times entering and exiting base. If possible, use alternative gates during these times; however, still expect delays.

Service members and their families are encouraged to stay alert. For the safety of everyone and to ensure smooth traffic flow at the gate, Peterson and Schriever SFB recommended limiting interactions or engagements with the protestors.
