(CUSTER COUNTY, Colo.) — CCSO posted an update that Shugart has been located.

ORIGINAL STORY: Man missing in Custer County since late August

    MONDAY 9/2/2024 10:01 a.m.

The Custer County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has been looking for a man missing since Wednesday, Aug. 28.

CCSO said it is asking for information about the location of 72-year-old Steve Shugart. Shugart was last in contact with family and friends on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and they are worried about him.

Shugart is an avid hiker and CCSO said he may have had a mishap while hiking, although it is unknown if Shugart had a hiking trip planned.

Shugart should be driving a blue Dodge truck with license plate 682FEY. Anyone with information about Shugart’s location should contact CCSO at (719) 792-6411.
