(WOODLAND PARK, Colo.) — The Woodland Park Police Department (WPPD) reported it has resolved a case regarding an alleged school threat at Woodland Park High School.

On Wednesday morning, Sept. 11 just after 8:45 a.m., police posted on Facebook that there were allegations of a student who threatened to bring a gun to school after telling other students, “Don’t come to school tomorrow.” According to WPPD, Woodland Park School District (WPSD) also contacted individuals through emails and phone calls regarding the alleged threat.

The police department said they had worked since Tuesday evening with the Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) to contact who they suspected to be involved. WPPD said they continued investigating into Wednesday morning, and officers located the student deemed to be the subject in question and asked him about the incident.

The student told officers that he told a friend, “Don’t come to school tomorrow, we are skipping,” and police added that a third party overheard parts of the conversation and reported it to the school.

Officers said that the student was not deemed a threat and that the case had been resolved. “As a proactive measure, police personnel will have an increased presence both on and around campus,” WPPD wrote.

FOX21 News has reached out to the WPSD for further comment on the matter and will update this article once we receive more information.

Hopefully they’re right and there wasn’t a threat but seems like we’ve heard this story before.
