    9-year-old killed crossing Highway 50 before sunrise

    (PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — In an update, the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) provided more information on a crash on Highway 50 in which a child was killed early Monday, Sept. 16.

    According to CSP, a 9-year-old boy was hit and killed on Highway 50 near Baxter, after CSP said he tried to cross the highway just before 5:30 a.m. from the Oakwood Estates Mobile Home Park. The boy was hit by a westbound semi truck hauling a trailer and died at the scene.

    CSP said the truck driver is from Pueblo, and added that no charges have been filed against the driver. The driver stayed on scene after the crash, CSP said.

    ORIGINAL STORY: Minor killed in pedestrian crash on Highway 50

    The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said a semi-truck versus pedestrian crash resulted in the death of a minor in the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 16.

    CSP tells FOX21 the call for the crash came in around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 50 at milepost 322 near Baxter Road. Law enforcement found a minor dead on the scene and a semi-truck driver who claimed to be involved.

    According to CSP, the investigation is still ongoing and the road in the area remains closed, CSP anticipates the road reopening sometime around 9 a.m.

    Why is it in all these cases somebody yells put him in prison with no information, don't you THINK that this person is in his own prison and at 5:30 a.m. visibility was at best marginal, why not say it was a terrible accident and just feel for both families.
