(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Crested Butte Film Festival is back for its 14th year and one of this year’s featured films will tell the story of a man who is now very well known in Colorado Springs and beyond because of his actions the night of the Club Q shooting on Nov. 19, 2022.

Richard Fierro, an army veteran, disarmed the gunman that night, and “Fierro” tells his story.

Fierro and the film’s director, Edward Tyndall, joined FOX21 Morning News on Tuesday, Sept. 17 to talk about the film’s premiere. “It’s really just about the series of events in a person’s life that lead up to them making the choice to engage,” said Tyndall.

The film premiers on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Crested Butte Film Festival. It will also air at the Pikes Peak docuFEST in Colorado Springs on Oct. 19. Eventually it will be online for everyone to watch.
