    CSPD releases review on use of force training

    (COLORADO SPRINGS) — At a press conference on Thursday, Sept. 26, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) released the findings of an extensive review of its training programs in regard to use of force & defensive tactics, de-escalation, procedural justice, and response to people in crisis.

    CSPD said it contracted with the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) in 2023 to conduct an extensive review of our training programs. The review was recently concluded, and the findings were made public on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.

    The presentation included remarks from Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade and Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez, as well as a briefing from PERF personnel who conducted the study.
