    Pueblo PD responds to scene, finds one dead

    (PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) responded to a report of a panic alarm and a possible shooting near Sunset Park in the early morning hours of Thursday, Sept. 26. Upon arrival, they found one person dead.

    According to PPD, officers responded to the scene in the 1100 block of Pueblo Boulevard Way near Sunset Park and Lea Gonzales Park at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Thursday and found the victim dead in a parking lot.

    This marks the 16th homicide in Pueblo in 2024, there were 26 homicides in 2023.

    The Pueblo County Coroner will identify the victim and will determine the cause and manner of death.
